Background, Research Interests, and Current Projects:

Yuanchao received his B.S. in Remote Sensing Science and Technology from Wuhan University in June 2008, and came to UNR immediately to begin pursuing his M.S. in Natural Resources and Environmental Science. During his undergraduate study, he had good training in the field of geospatial technologies, i.e. Remote Sensing, GIS and Photogrammetry. It is his strong interest in natural conservation and environmental protection that has oriented him in the current direction.

Yuanchao is currently working on the project: Tree Crown Mortality Associated with Roads in the Lake Tahoe Basin: A Remote Sensing Approach , in which he found a perfect combination of his skills and interests. He has a desire to put his background knowledge into good use, to learn more in ecology, forestry or anything that is helpful to understand the immense but fragile natural environment, and to enjoy the fieldwork at the beautiful Lake Tahoe.
