Background, Research Interests, and Current Projects:

While working on her undergraduate degree, Stephanie assisted with a variety of research projects including sea turtle nesting and productivity in Bocas del Toro, Panama and Least Tern conservation in Pinellas County, Florida. After receiving her B.S. in Marine Science from Eckerd College, she was employed by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Fish and Wildlife Research Institute, where she assisted with a variety of seagrass monitoring and assessment projects.

Stephanie is currently pursuing her M.S. at the University of Nevada, Reno. Her research with Dr. Peter Weisberg will focus on quantifying the role of fire in desert springs ecosystems, while reconstructing historical patterns of fire and vegetation change at Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge.
