We are very pleased that you are considering enrolling at University of Nevada, and particularly pleased that you are interested in the Department of Resource Economics.
The Department was recently ranked fourth in the nation for its programs. And for good reason. Our programs are specially designed to provide students with hands-on experience from the start.
While other economics and business programs provide basic theory and methods, we start from a problem-solving perspective-providing an excellent base in theory and methods-while looking at solving real-world problems. Our classes also have a high degree of interaction between students and faculty.
We offer high-quality programs in agricultural economics, agribusiness management and finance in which you will develop a wide range of knowledge in:
- Business management
- Resource management
- Accounting
- Marketing
- Economics
- Investment analysis
- Statistical analysis
Many of our students choose to work directly with professors in their research for course credit. Students also may take on internships for course credit and can gain experience working off campus.
Our graduates are confident and capable upon graduation. They are independent thinkers with the analytical skills demanded by both agricultural and non-agricultural businesses world-wide.
Our students who choose to go on to graduate programs for their Masters, Ph.Ds, MBAs and law degrees find that they are highly competitive and have the skills necessary to excel in these advanced programs. If you have any questions regarding our program, you may contact us or the department staff by phone 775-784-6031 or drop by for a visit room 217 Fleishmann Agricultural Building.
Information on any University course or other aspects of the academic program, or just general information about University of Nevada may be obtained at the University web page: http://www.unr.edu/.
We look forward to meeting you and would be very pleased to welcome you into our program as a biochemistry major.
