Investigating Groundwater Contaminants And Their Impact On Childhood Leukemia

 

In a period from 1997 until the end of 2001, a total of 15 children, diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia. All the cases were reported in Churchill County, Nevada. The goal of this research is to investigate the potential link of groundwater contamination with the increased incidence of childhood leukemia and whether high levels of arsenic, tungsten, polonium-210 and other elements or various combinations of these as they occur in the drinking water increase oxidative stress and blood cell abnormalities.  Read More...
