If this is your first electronic visit to the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (BMB), the initial overview might be a bit daunting. The BMB is home to a community of dedicated scientists conducting innovative research in the life sciences. The diverse research interests of BMB faculty are united by a focus on exploring the functions of macromolecules in fundamental biological processes. The department pursues these research aims through its high level of external research funding, its investment in excellent new facilities, up-to-date equipment and state-of-the-art technologies, and the recruitment of high-caliber faculty and staff.

Education of undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral students is a core mission of the department, and numerous BMB faculty have been recognized for their teaching excellence, with many outstanding opportunities for students to join a faculty member's research group and carry out independent laboratory research alongside the other graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.

Again, welcome to Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and please take the time to learn more!
