Risk Management Education for Sustainable Agriculture in Nevada

Welcome to the Risk Management Education for Sustainable Agriculture in Nevada program website. The goal of this program is to develop and deliver risk management education programs to livestock and forage producers in the State of Nevada. The educational programs consist of one or two-day seminars in the areas of financial, production, legal and market risk, including Cattlemen's Update, Range Management School, Human Resource Management, Estate and Farm Transition Planning, Value-Added Marketing, and Agritourism. Program topics are based upon programming needs as indicated in producer seminar evaluations and surveys. As a result of these programs, participating producers will be able to more effectively manage their enterprise and have an understanding of the various risk management options available to them. Informed decisions regarding markets, pricing, and production based on strong financial analysis will lead to sustainable agricultural practices and enhanced quality of life for farmers and their surrounding communities.

All of the publications and presentations prepared for this program are available on this site. Additionally, the website provides a listing of upcoming seminars and registration information. This program is funded primarily by the USDA-Risk Management Agency (RMA) and provided by faculty from the College of Agriculture, Biotechnology, and Natural Resources and the College of Cooperative Extension at the University of Nevada, Reno.

Welcome to the program Website, enjoy!
