Mission
The mission of the Department of Animal Biotechnology, School of Veterinary Medicine is to:
- Provide an education in the Animal Sciences, Animal Biotechnology and Pre-Veterinary Medicine that prepare our students for a productive career, graduate education, or acceptance into a professional curriculum.
- Develop centers of excellence in our research programs that meet stakeholder needs and address issues of future concern and importance.
- Transfer new knowledge and relevant information to our stakeholders through our extension education and outreach programs.
Vision:
Our vision for our Department is to build on the current strengths of our faculty to develop new and expanded programs for research, training and technology transfer. We will develop new centers of excellence in research and education that focus on our strengths in biotechnology, the traditional animal sciences, and rangelands-livestock management to meet the needs of our stakeholders and increase regional, national and international recognition of our programs. We will conduct both internal and external reviews of our programs on a regular basis to ensure that we are achieving our department goals. |
