- Environmental & Resource Economics -
prepares students for careers concerning environment and natural resource use or conservation as managers, planners, or policy makers, for example. It is also good preparation for graduate study in economics or law. Students learn about behavioral economics and environment and resource issues at home and around the world. All majors learn to design and evaluate optimal resource use and policy, manage risk, measure the value of things that are not transacted in markets, and conduct socio-economic impact assessments. It requires a minor so that students formally augment their economics training with a specialty in wildlife, forestry, resource, or risk management, or, the environmental policy process.
