Welcome to CABNR!
The College of Agriculture, Biotechnology, and Natural Resources (CABNR) is a founding
college of this Land Grant University. The College has a long and distinguished
record of fulfilling the tripartite mission of teaching, research, and outreach
programs benefiting the health and economic vitality of Nevada.
In an effort to be both relevant and accountable, the College has continuously and
systematically reviewed and focused its programs in anticipation of the State's
needs and the evolution of scientific discovery.
Did you know?
Although CABNR has ~ 1,000 undergraduates or 8% of UNR’s undergraduate population,
CABNR has ~25% of UNR’s National Merit students enrolled in its majors.
Since 2000, a CABNR student has won the Herz Medal Award 10 times (about 40% of
the time, given twice a year).
CABNR students received a silver medal at the 2011 International Genetic Engineering
Competition held at MIT.
